Katie Baughman, soprano, is a versatile and multi-faceted artist. After her professional debut as Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Bellingham Festival of Music in Washington the Bellingham Herald proclaimed her “delightful”. Katie is currently pursuing a DMA in Vocal Performance at the University of Maryland on scholarship.  She is a staff chorister and soloist at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. This season  Katie will sing the soprano solos with the Johns Creek Symphony and the Michael O'Neil Singers in their joint concert of Beethoven's Mass in C as well as give her first Doctoral Recital at University of Maryland.   In the 2010-2011 season, Ms. Baughman returned to the Johns Creek Symphony as a guest performer for their popular annual Christmas gala, continued her educational outreach through Young Audiences of Atlanta, and performed in several concerts to benefit the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. She was a semi-finalist in the Orpheus National Vocal Competition in March and won the Gail Robinson Musicianship Award at the University of Kentucky's Alltech Competition.  Katie was a  core member of the prestigious Atlanta Opera Chorus for 5 seasons.  In addition to her work as a performer and student, Katie works in the Community Engagement department of the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland. 




Katie's other projects include Duo Sorelle and A Do.  Duo Sorelle is a duo she formed with her sister and fellow violinist Adelaide Federici.  They perform rarely heard works for soprano and violin and also works for two violins.  
A Do is a group with John Maschinot that performs Irish vocal and instrumental music and Irish dancing.
